Subject: UnixWare 7.1.0: s5, sfs, memfs and vxfs Driver Supplement Advisory number: n/a Issue date: n/a ftp://stage.caldera.com/pub/security/sse/ptf7439b Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7439b, the UnixWare 7.1.0 s5, sfs, memfs and vxfs Driver Supplement, addresses the following problems: 1. Some actions can consume the whole of memory, forcing a box to start swapping. Additionally fixed in SLS ptf7439b: 2. The ls command locks on memfs. 3. A security issue in the usage of /tmp involving linking or symbolic linking of well known temporary file names to critical system files is fixed. The fix is implemented as additional restrictions on link, rename (mv) and symbolic linking on directories that have the sticky bit set.
