The enclosed Support Level Supplement (SLS) PTF3141B, the Video Driver 
Supplement, includes drivers to support video cards based on the following 
chipsets:

        Virge  (cards from #9 and Diamond tested) 
        Virge VX  (cards from #9 and Diamond tested)
        Trio64V+  (cards from Diamond and NCR_on_motherboard tested)
        S3 968 with IBM RAMDAC  (cards from Diamond tested)
        ATI 3D Xpression  (RAGE II)
        ATI Video Xpression  (RAGE I)
        ATI Mach64CT
        ATI Mach64 with IBM RAMDAC

New Features
------------

"biosmode" and "textmode" utilities:

"biosmode" is a new utility used by all new video drivers to initialize
various graphics modes.

"textmode" utility can be used to restore text whenever X is abruptly killed.
Usually, the X server restores the text mode, but if for any reason the X 
server is killed, you will see an unreadable screen. You can restore the
screen by typing 'textmode' and pressing <Enter>.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

1. Become root and create a new directory by typing the following:
 
     $ su
     Password: <type your root password>
     # mkdir /tmp/pkg
     # chmod 700 /tmp/pkg
     # cd /tmp/pkg

2. Download the ptf3141b.Z and the ptf3141b.txt files to the newly
   created /tmp/pkg directory on your machine.
 
3. Read the Release Notes contained in the ptf3141b.txt file.
 
4. Uncompress the file and add the package to your system using these
   commands:
 
     # uncompress /tmp/pkg/ptf3141b.Z
     # pkgadd -d /tmp/pkg/ptf3141b 


Configuration Instructions
--------------------------

To set higher resolution graphics modes, exit the desktop, log in as root
and run one of the following commands:

/usr/X/lib/display/setvideomode -vinfo virge
/usr/X/lib/display/setvideomode -vinfo mach64
/usr/X/lib/display/setvideomode -vinfo s364

in the /usr/X/lib/display/ directory.


Removal Instructions
---------------------

1. Become root and remove the package by typing these commands:

     $ su
     Password: <type your root password>
     # pkgrm ptf3141b
