Getting Started

SCO OpenServerTM 5 to UnixWare® 7 Migration Tools

The Migration Tools and Migration Guide provide a pathway from OpenServer Release 5 to the UnixWare 7 platform. The Migration Tools automate the process of migrating user accounts, TCP/IP networking, and printers. The online Migration Guide (included with this distribution) comprises procedures for migrating subsystems not covered by the tools, including mail and messaging, non-system data files, and so on.

The OpenServer system to be migrated is referred to as the source system and the Unixware 7 installation is known as the target system.

System Requirements

Source system: OpenServer 5.0.4 or 5.0.5
Target system: UnixWare 7 (7.1.0, or 7.1.1)
RAM: 32MB (64 MB recommended)
Disk space: 2MB free disk space

Installation Notes

The Migration Tools consist of two packages: one for the source system (OpenServer) to be migrated, and a second for the target system (Unixware 7) where the migrated files will eventually reside.
