Example 1:
This is an example of importing a PST file using the command line import tool. The ``seen'' flag is not retained.
The email account login is ``smith'' and the PST file to import is /tmp/engineering.pst. This will import the contents of the PST file into the top level of the mailbox for ``smith''. If an additional folder name such as user/smith/engineering_mail is specified the PST contents would be imported into the ``engineering_mail'' folder for ``smith''. This method does NOT retain the message ``seen'' flag because we are specifying a specific import destination.
login: root password: <root password> # LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/insight/lib;export LD_LIBRARY_PATH # cd /opt/insight/htdocs/is4web # /opt/insight/bin/php module/run.php module/migrate.php \ /tmp/engineering.pst user/smith
Example 2:
This example uses the command line tool to import a PST file into the mailbox for a named user and is indicated by providing the users mail account login and password. Because the users login and password are provided the ``seen'' flag can be migrated.
login: root password: <root password> # LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/insight/lib;export LD_LIBRARY_PATH # cd /opt/insight/htdocs/is4web # /opt/insight/bin/php module/run.php module/migrate.php \ /tmp/engineering.pst / <login> <login password>
Example of migrating users from Exchange 2000:
The hostname of the example Exchange server is mail.mycompany.com. The default container or Domain for the mail users on this server is ``workgroup''.
In step 2 of the migration process enter the following into the input fields:
Administatrator DN: cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=workgroup,dc=mycompany,dc=com Administrative password: <administrator password> Confirm password: <administrator password> LDAP Suffix: cn=users,dc=workgroup,dc=mycompany,dc=comIf the above method does not work for your Exchange 2000 server you can
find the LDAP Suffix and Administrator DN by opening a shell on the
SCOoffice Server, login as root and run the following command using
mail.mycompany.com as the example Exchange server:
/opt/insight/bin/ldapsearch -x -h mail.mycompany.com -p 3268 \
-b "dc=mycompany,dc=com" "(objectclass=domain)" o dn | grep dn:
The output from the command will look something like the following:
dn: DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com
For each ``dn:'' prepend ``cn=users'' to construct the LDAP Suffix as in:
cn=users,dc=WORKGROUP,dc=mycompany,dc=com
To construct the Administrator DN prepend ``cn=administrator'' to the LDAP
Suffix as in:
cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=WORKGROUP,dc=mycompany,dc=com
With the correct information entered into the fields for Step 2, click Next. A page of users will be displayed with a checkbox next to each one. This is step 3. Select the CN entry for each user to be migrated. The ``Administrator'' user will not be migrated so it does not need to be selected. Continue on with the migration process as documented in the Administrators Guide.
An example using our mail.mycompany.com server:
If the Exchange Organization is ``marketing'' then enter the following in step 2 of the migration process:
Administatrator DN: cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=workgroup,dc=mycompany,dc=com Administrative password: <administrator password> Confirm password: <administrator password> LDAP Suffix: ou=marketing,dc=workgroup,dc=mycompany,dc=com
Having entered this information for step 2 click next. The next page, step 3, will display the Organization and users to migrate. Select the CN entry for each user to be migrated. It is not necessary to select the OU entry for the Organization.
Here is an example of such entries:
OU=marketing,DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com CN=Wendell Blick,OU=marketing,DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com
If the name of the Exchange Organization is unknown it can be found by running the following ldapsearch command. Note that to lookup the Exchange Organizations ldapsearch must bind to the Exchange Active Directory server using the Exchange Administrator DN (the -D argument) and password (the -w argument):
/opt/insight/bin/ldapsearch -x -p 3268 -h mail.mycompany.com -D "cn=administrator,cn=users,dc=workgroup,dc=mycompany,dc=com" -w admin -b "dc=mycompany,dc=com" "objectclass=organizationalUnit" o dn
The output from this command will look something like this:
# Domain Controllers, workgroup,mycompany.com dn: OU=Domain Controllers,DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com # marketing, WORKGROUP.pdev.sco.com dn: OU=marketing,DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com
Ignoring all Domain Controller entries we find that we have one Exchange Organization that is entered as the LDAP Suffix in step 2 of the Exchange migration process:
OU=marketing,DC=WORKGROUP,DC=mycompany,DC=com
An autocomplete feature has been added to the WebClient. The autocomplete feature assists the user when entering recipient email addresses. Autocomplete searches the Contacts folders, any shared Contacts folders, and the Global Address Book and presents possible address completions at each keystroke. The up and down arrow keys are used to select the address from the completion list and the Return key will enter the selected address into the form. The autocomplete feature is off by default and is enabled in the WebClient preferences page.
The file /opt/insight/icc/groupware/conf/usersettings.inc allows the administrator to set default preferences for the WebClient users. The preferences that can be set are listed in the file. For example, the autocomplete feature can be enabled by default for all users. Settings made by the user in the WebClient Preferences page override the settings in the usersettings.inc file.
Before modifying this file please make a backup and take care not to damage the php syntax of this file.
<? // mail options $refreshTree_opt = 300; // refresh folder list every n seconds $storeSent_opt = 'on'; // save a copy of sent messages $autoComplete_opt = 'off'; // enable/disable autocomplete // calendar options $starthour_opt = 8; $startminute_opt = 0; $startampm_opt = "AM"; $endhour_opt = 6; $endminute_opt = 0; $endampm_opt = "PM"; $day_start = '0700'; $day_end = '2000'; $calendar_view_opt = 'day'; // default calendar view, day/week/month $week_start_opt = 'Sunday'; // day calendar week starts ?>
An issue with the socket driver on multi-processor systems has been identified which can prevent Postfix from delivering mail. This manifests and a very large number of messages in the Postfix mailq with a very slow rate of delivery due to transport unavailability.
You may see messages in the /var/adm/syslog file similar to this:
Feb 15 15:08:24 myserver postfix/qmgr[572]: 3870022948: to=<deagan@mycompany.com>, relay=none, delay=1953, status=deferred (transport is unavailable)A corrected socket driver is available in Maintenance Pack 4 or later for SCO OpenServer 5.0.7.
