Dear Customer, This package contains the SCOoffice Mail Connector 2.0 build 55 (2.0.55). This release contains important fixes that should be installed at your next maintenance period. This release should be applied prior to submitting problem reports to SCO Support. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I. Software Notes and Recommendations 1. This software is intended for use with the SCOoffice Mail Server 2.0 and later. 2. If you are installing the Connector software for the first time please read this letter and the Installation and Configuration Guide prior to installing and configuring the Connector software. On Windows NT, Windows 2000, Window XP and Windows 2003 the Administrator may install the Connector software. However, the end user of the software must have PowerUser capability and be logged in as his or herself to configure it. 3. If you are upgrading from any prior 2.0 version of the Connector this software may be used to perform an in-place upgrade. In-place upgrades of Connector 1.0 versions is not available. On Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 2003 the end user must have PowerUser capability and be logged in as his or herself to perform the upgrade. 4. Connector 1.0 licenses cannot be used with the 2.0 Connector. If you are upgrading from version 1.0 to version 2.0 of the Connector you must obtain your free upgrade to Connector and Address Book 2.0 licenses from SCO before installing the 2.0 software. To get your 2.0 licenses go to: http://www.sco.com/products/SCOoffice/mail/connectorupgd.html 5. Do not use the SCOoffice Mail Server's single-click Outlook configuration tool to install and configure the Connector software. Contrary to the statements made in the Installation and Configuration Guide that feature has not been updated to facilitate the installation and configuration of the Connector software. Use the single-click feature to configure Outlook when not using the Connector software. 6. Run the SCOofficeConnector_2.0.55.exe installer without any options: SCOofficeMailConnector_2.0.55.exe 2. Follow the instructions in the Installation and Configuration Guide. Upgrading previous versions of Connector 2.0: 1. Run the SCOofficeMailConnector_2.0.55.exe installer with the /silent option. This will upgrade you 2.0 Connector software and retain your current configuration: SCOofficeMailConnector_2.0.55.exe /silent Upgrading from version 1.0 of the Connector: 1. Obtain your Connector 2.0 license as described above. 2. Use the 'Add/Remove Programs' Control Panel applet to remove the 1.0 Connector software from your computer. 3. Install the Connector 2.0 software by running the installer without any command line options: SCOofficeMailConnector_2.0.55.exe 4. Follow the instructions in the Installation and Configuration Guide. You may accept the default settings during the installation of the Connector. Please note that by default the 2.0 Connector will use POP3 to retrieve messages from the server to your INBOX. The 1.0 Connector used IMAP synchronization. After installing the 2.0 Connector you may want to turn on IMAP synchronization of your INBOX. To do so click on your INBOX in the Outlook folder list, click 'Folder' in the Connector menu bar, then check 'Synchronize INBOX folder'. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Removal Notes: The Connector software can be removed from your computer by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' Control Panel Applet. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bugs fixed Connector 2.0 builds 36 through 55: 1. Non-English Outlook, The name of the Inbox folder now appears correctly. 2. The Administrator can now install the Connector without the end user getting 'Keyfile.dat: File Access Denied' during configuration. The end user must have PowerUser capability to configure it. 3. Error Code 07000003 :: invalid keyfile.dat. 4. Multiple instances of 'No Internet connection' message. 5. TASKS/Meeting Requests don't appear as "New" 6. Warning that path exists for newly created pst. 7. Configuration wizard pops up after initial configuration. 8. Inbox does not initially synchronize. 9. Translation display error ( no display). 10. Outlook XP - reply/forward images and plain text problem. 11. Outlook 2000 - reply/forward icons and RTF/plain text pro... 12. Subject encoding problems. 13. Copy folder removes original (RENAME/move occurs). 14. Sync manager steals window focus. 15. Fixed moving folder that contains sub-folders from Inbox to another folder. 16. Fixed inline HTML attachments not being parsed into Outlook. 17. Installer fixes, no more 'can not call proc' 18. Removed InstallShield entry from Add/Remove Programs. 19. Default license registration port number changed from 80 to 3080. 20. License dialog box now pops up during installation. 21. Fixed duplicate messages due to setting the replied to status on a message. 22. Fixed inline text messages not showing up. 23. Replied flag is not being set for new messages. 24. Sync Replied and Forwarded messages. The IMAP server uses Answered flag for both replied and forwarded messages. The other mail client will have the replied property set for the messages. 25. Localized INBOX folder now stays localized. 26. Subject line is being decoded correctly for UTF-8. 27. Don't deleted the original folder when a folder has been copied. 28. Need to check if the body of the message is inline attachment. 29. Enable Free/Busy "Publish to Internet" if there is a Write URL in the INI file in the Free/Busy section for the automatic configuration. 30. When moving the folder to the Deleted Items folder and the folder already exist, make a unique folder name by append 1, 2, 3 or # until the folder can be moved. 31. Installer now quits if /y path\to\file is invalid 32. When installing with "/silent", get the previous install directory if there is one. If there isn't use the default directory. 33. Don't check to see if there is a network connection before attempting to synchronize, too unreliable. 34. Fixed Free/Busy was using the wrong registry value for Read URL and Write URL. 35. Change the logic to check to see if the network is running by detecting if the host is alive. If the host is not alive it can mean that the network is down or the host is not running. 36. Allow to install the product during automatic install if there is no key in the setup.ini file. 37. If setup.ini only contain the key, do a automatic install and use the key to automatically register the product. 38. Check to see if a message contains a plain text message that is inside of a attachment to prevent a blank message. 39. Check all the different messages to check to see if the message is read or unread on the server. This will allow a new meeting request to show as unread. 40. Set the "SkipWizard" to 1 in the registry when setting up the profile during the auto install and configuration. 41. Create "Internet Free/Busy" in the registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Options\Calendar, replace 9.0 with the version of Outlook that is running. 42. If there is no "Synchronize Inbox Folder" property in the INBOX folder, check to see if there is on in the registry to see if the connector need to synchronize the Inbox folder. 43. If a folder has been configured to synchronized when a folder has been selected, that folder will not synchronize when starting or exiting Outlook. 44. Fixed a problem with reading a message that contains no new line after the attachment which causes the connector to consume all the memory. 45. Fixed installer problems using InstallShield. 46. Change the installer to Inno. 47. Don't show the delete and write access denied error message box all the time once a user modifies a message in a read only shared folder.
