Dear Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf9005b, the UnixWare 7.1.3 Update Pack 3 Supplement, addresses the following problems Problems Fixed -------------- 1. netstat displays garbage data. e.g. large negative values in Recv-Q and Send-Q. 2. IBM xSeries 445 server with the RXE-100 (Lookout) PCI I/O expansion box, hangs when hyperthreading is enabled. Hyperthreading is enabled via the enable_jt boot parameter. To fix this issue, follow these steps. i. Install UW713 using the latest media. (The original 713 media will not install on the xSeries. If you only have the original 713 media, you will need to use ptf9000 boot floppies to install. You can distinguish the latest media from the original by the text at the base of CD1. The latest has 400-91H-805 NOV03, the original has 400-91A-805 12/02). ii. Ensure hyperthreading is disabled, "enable_jt=n". It is disabled by default. This boot parameter can be entered as follows: - At the Unixware boot splash screen, press any key to access the boot prompt - Type "enable_jt=n", then press return - Type "boot" to boot your machine. iii. Install Update Pack 3. iv. Install this PTF package. You can now enable hyperthreading. 3. Applications that use qsort can dump core after installing Update Pack 3.
