Dear SCO Customer, Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7143a, the SCO ARCserve/Open 2.2.0 Maintenance Supplement for SCO ARCserve/Open running on SCO UnixWare 2.1.x and UnixWare 7.0.x, includes all the fixes for known Year 2000 issues and adds support for new tape devices. The list of these fixes, as well as a list of tape devices, are listed in the Problems Fixed section. Problems Fixed -------------- The following Year 2000 problems are addressed in this SLS: 1. Reports generated using the Report Manager GUI report all Y2K dates incorrectly. When a report is generated, dates that are year 2000 or greater are incorrectly displayed as: 100 (year 2000), 101 (year 2001), 102 (year 2002), and so on. Depending on the version of the operating system on which SCO ARCserve/Open is being run, the year 2000 may also be displayed as a two-digit number of 69 or greater. The correct format for the dates should be 00 (year 2000), 01 (Year 2001), 02 (Year 2002), and so on. 2. Output from as_qmgr (command line) reports Y2K dates incorrectly. When you run as_qmgr to list the jobs in the queue, or to change the date in which a job will run, year 2000 or greater dates are displayed incorrectly. They are displayed as described above in problem 1. 3. Autopilot labels a tape incorrectly when the year is 2000 or greater. When autopilot labels a tape, it includes the current date as part of the label name. When the year is 2000 or greater, the date used on the label is incorrect. It uses dates as described above in problem 1. 4. Using the format tapes option in the Device Manager GUI to format a tape in a tape library displays incorrect expiration dates if the year is in the year 2000 or greater. If you are using a changer or tape library, and choose to format a tape, the default expiration date is not displayed correctly in the year 2000 or greater. This date is displayed as described above in problem 1. SLS ptf7143a adds support for the following tape devices: Note: Not all these devices have been certified yet. See the online SCO Compatible Hardware web page at: http://www.sco.com/chwp The term "supported" here means that the software will recognize the device, but it does not imply that the device is officially certified. Only devices that are officially certified are guaranteed to work as expected. - Quantum Powerstor L200 and L500 changers - Quantum DLTStor changers - ATL L200 and L500 changers - Exabyte 230D changer - HP A4853A changer - HP A4846A changer - Del 130T changer - Compaq 12/24/DAT LIB - Digital TL891 changer - Digital TL810/812 changers - Tandberg SLR5 tape drive - Tandberg NS20 Pro (TR5) - Aiwa TD-20001 tape drive (TR5) - HP T20 (TR5) - Seagate NS8/NS20(TR4/TR5) tape drive - Compaq 2/4 GB DAT tape drive - Tandberg SLR6 tape drive - Techmar NS20 - ADIC Faststor FS-DLT4000 DLT changer - Compaq 4/8Gb 4mm DAT - Compaq 12/24Gb 4mm DAT - Compaq 20/40Gb DLT - Compaq 35/70Gb LIB DLT changer - Compaq 35/70Gb DLT - HP 418 DLT changer - IBM 7331 8mm DAT changer - IBM IBM-85XL 8mm DAT - Overland LXB DLT changer - Quantum DLT4000 DLT - Seagate Scorpion 4 - Seagate Sidewinder - Tandberg MLR1 - Tandberg MLR3 - Tandberg MLR1 QIC - Tandberg MLR3 QIC Contents -------- /usr/lib/ARCserve/.tapelist.dat /usr/lib/ARCserve/tapesvr /usr/lib/ARCserve/dm /usr/lib/ARCserve/dbserver /usr/lib/ARCserve/aprocess /usr/lib/ARCserve/as_backup Software Notes and Recommendations ---------------------------------- SLS ptf7143a should only be installed on these releases: SCO ARCserve/Open from Cheyenne Release 2.2.0k running on SCO UnixWare Application Server Release 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3 or SCO UnixWare Personal Edition Release 2.1.1, 2.1.2, 2.1.3 SCO ARCserve/Open from Cheyenne Release 2.2.0l running on UnixWare 7 Release 7.0.0, 7.0.1 SLS ptf7143a supersedes ptf7135a, the Year 2000 Supplement for SCO ARCserve/Open 2.2 ARCserve/Open 2.2 Maintenance Supplement Release 1.1.0.
