Support Level Supplement (SLS) ptf7641d, the UnixWare 7 mc01 Driver
Supplement, addresses the problems listed below.

SLS ptf7641a addressed the following issues:

  - mccntl functions fail because sdi timeouts are too short.
    SLS ptf7641a extended mc01 to interface correctly with the sdi_timeout
    mechanisms, and modifies default timeouts to allow changer operations
    to complete without error.

SLS ptf7641d additionally addresses the following issues:

  - The system panics when running multiple 'mccntl' commands.

  - mccntl -E fails to operate correctly (multi-drive tape changer).

Software Notes and Recommendations
----------------------------------

SLS ptf7641d should only be installed on:

        UnixWare 7 Release 7.1.0, 7.1.1
        UnixWare 7 NonStop Clusters Release 7.1.1

NOTE:  This supplement has been superseded by
the UnixWare 7.1.1 Maintenance Pack for UnixWare 7.1.1 platforms
only.  The UnixWare 7.1.1 Maintenance Pack is available from:

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

1. Download the ptf7641d.Z file to the /tmp directory on your machine.

2. As root, uncompress the file and add the SLS package to your system
   using these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # uncompress /tmp/ptf7641d.Z
        # pkgadd -d /tmp/ptf7641d
        # rm /tmp/ptf7641d

Alternatively, this SLS package may be installed in quiet mode,
that is, without displaying the release notes and asking for
installation confirmation.  To do this, use these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # uncompress /tmp/ptf7641d.Z
        # pkgadd -qd /tmp/ptf7641d all
        # rm /tmp/ptf7641d

3. Reboot the system after installing this SLS package.

The release notes displayed prior to installation can be found in:

        /var/sadm/pkg/ptf7641/install/ptf7641.txt


Removal Instructions
--------------------

1. As root, remove the SLS package using these commands:

        $ su
        Password: <type your root password>
        # pkgrm ptf7641

2. Reboot the system after removing this SLS package.
